Dustproof waterproof hierarchies

IP（INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION）is specialized industrial protection grade. It will appliances according the characteristic of the dust, prevent moisture to classification. IP protection grade is composed of two Numbers, the first digital representation appliances to prevent foreign materials into (dirt) level, the second figures show that the electric moisture proof, waterproof airtight degree. The greater the number said the higher degree of protection.

Two marked number represented by the protection grade is as follows:

Dustproof level (the first number)

0：No protection

1：Diameter of 50 mm objects may not be completely into the shell

2：Diameter of 12.5 mm objects may not be completely into the shell

3：Vertical plane within 60 degrees to drench water, no harmful effects　

4：Diameter of 1.0 mm objects must not enter the shell completely

5：Can't completely prevent dust to enter, but into the amount of dust should not affect the normal operation of equipment, shall not affect safety.

6：No dust

Waterproof level (second number)

0：No protection

1：Vertical drop of no harmful effects

2：When the outer shell of the vertical plane within 15 degrees tilt, vertical water had no harmful effect

3：Diameter of 2.5 mm | object must not enter the shell completely

4：Had no harmful effect to the shell splash in all directions

5：Spray water in all directions without harmful effects

6：To all directions strongly water had no harmful effect     

7：A short period of time inundate had no influence

8：No influence for diving

For example:

IP65 protection grade: Completely dustproof, water to shell in all directions without harmful effects

IP66 protection grade: Completely dustproof, strong water spray to the shell all directions without harmful effects
